  • I retired some years ago. But I can remember being out of work on a couple of occasions (one was 11 months in 1992) - it was hard, depressing and debilitating. But my wife insisted I spent 1/2 day looking for work, the other 1/2 day spent enjoying what we had, going for walks, cycling, etc.

  • I am with Group Health Cooperative in Puget Sound Washington State. It is the best health care organization I have experienced in the USA or in the UK. I have never seen a more efficient, effective and accurate health care system anywhere.

  • The Thai part of the Golden Triangle used to be part of the opium growing regions but the Thai King put a stop to it by training the tribespeople to grow other things like coffee and domesticated wild plants for gardens.

  • Read the book "Three cups of tea" by Greg Mortenson - it clearly shows in my mind that real education for all Muslims is the key to breaking the vicious hold that the Taliban and Islamic Extremists have on various populations.
